Lackey claims dual state titles at Austin meet
Gary Lackey of Brownfield capped his high school career with two state championships at the State Track Meet in Austin. He won the 3200 meters in 9:44.09 and the 1600 meters in 4:21.41, after a strategic race plan and a late kick. His father Gary Sr. reacted with pride as the senior prepares to join the University of North Texas distance team in Denton.
