Brownfield ISD honors staff with Employee Excellence Award

Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees recognized three staff members with Employee Excellence Awards in the Secondary category. Sides, Gonzales, and Decker were lauded for long district service and leadership. Sides plans to present in Dallas on student rocket research while Gonzales and Decker were praised for community involvement and district operations.

Clinic Closure Moves Tedford Practice to BRMC Clinic

Brownfield reports that Dr. Dennis Tedford will move his practice to the BRMC Clinic by mid June as Covenant Medical Group exits the clinic business. Covenant will reimburse BRMC for Tedford’s salary, and the Covenant Clinic on Tohoka Road may close aside from the Pharmacy and Dr. Ronald DeBusk. The News sought comment from Covenant officials with no response. Board reorganized for 2005 2006 with Steve Mason as President and financials show a total cash balance of about 4.15 million. Tax collections through April 30, 2005 indicate 96 percent of the levy collected. See BRMC Page 4.

BIDCorp accepts Knight resignation and board changes

The Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation Board accepted President Bobby Knight's resignation effective immediately. Glenn Waters to replace Knight, with Rodney Keeton elected president, Tom Hesse vice president, and Max Grice secretary. Executive Director Jack Cargill presented monthly reports showing a cash bottom line of 502,868.65.
