Public hearings set for Monday and Tuesday in Yoakum and Terry counties may determine support for annexing Terry County into Sandy Land Underground Water District. If support exists, an Aug. 15 election could decide the annexation and future water district taxes.

Brownfield Middle School bands win big at two contests
Brownfield Middle School Red Express under director Bill Shipp won first division with 90 plus score at the Greater Southwest Music Festival in Amarillo. Judges praised tone and repertoire. The next day the BMS Beginner Band captured its sixth straight sweepstakes with first divisions in concert and sightreading at Snyder Band Festival.
