Voters went to the polls Saturday across Brownfield Meadow and Wellman for city council and school board contests. Brownfield City Council results show City Hall tally 795 with 176 absentee. incumbents George Cox and Doug Ryburn top their races, while Alderman seats and write ins fill the slate. County considers buying Brownfield golf course as foreclosure threat looms

Brownfield officials and Brownfield Country Club spokesman L J Richardson urged Terry County Commissioners to purchase the Country Club to prevent foreclosure. He noted small towns struggle to sustain clubs while Yoakum Gaines and Andrews counties run golf courses, and said membership has fallen from about 180-200 to roughly 90. Hospital Board approves partial surgical insurance payout
