The Brownfield City Council met Thursday with groups present to seek action. The Brownfield Motorcycle Association requested use of the former Boys Club building, pending approval by the City and County. The Downtown Development film urged curb and sidewalk improvements, tabled for cost study. Nathan Kiser highlighted substandard housing while noting public facilities are strong. A transformer contract was awarded to Pruitt Supply of Amarillo for 16,989 dollars. The Zoning Boardrecommended rezoning PEN Addition Blocks One and Six to R-3, with a public hearing set for June 4. Alton Webb took oath as councilman. Joe Christian received a plaque. Bill Noble substituted for Preston Hester and will retire when Hester takes office.
