Brownfield runners shine at region meet with mixed results
Brownfield high school athletes dominated events at the Region 1-3A Track Meet in Odessa led by Gary Lackey who won the 3200 and set a meet record pace in the 1600. Roy Garcia placed third in the 1600 after a late-race mix up caused a nine-lap result and was named alternate in two events. Brownfield rivals, including Tatoy Morin and Lamar Hines, earned spots in finals with strong showings in the 400, shot put, and discus as the team eyes the state meet in Austin.
