Odd April Weather Shocks Brownfield With Warm Spells
Brownfield records a strange April with alternating warm and cold days. Total rainfall for the 30 days reached 3.46 inches, well above the 0.9 inch norm, aided by a 2.09 inch single-day downpour on April 25. Through April, 1997, the city totals 5.25 inches, well above the January–April average of 2.9 inches. Temperature climbed to 88 on April 22 and dipped to 23 on April 12, 24 on April 13, and 28 on April 11.
