New Terry County jail project to attract overflow prisoners
Terry County advances a 3.5 million jail complex to house overflow prisoners from nearby counties. Construction manager Danny Butler says work can start in June with completion by August. The plan includes a secure, sunlit gym, secured doors, and skylights to meet Texas Jail Standards. Local officials expect revenue to begin once counties transfer inmates and DOC payments begin.
