Vocal Music Festival Draws 1200 From 15 High Schools
More than 1 200 persons from 15 South Plains high schools will gather at Brownfield High School for the Vocal Music Competition Festival of Region 1, University Interscholastic League. Judges include Dr Houston Bright and Dr Richard Von Ende among others. events run with choral groups and solos, with awards for divisions and ensembles. No admission will be charged. doors close during performances.

Brownfield clubs win honors at Seventh District meeting
Brownfield study clubs dominated the Seventh District Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs gathering in Amarillo. Donna Chesare and Alpha Omega Study Club led in multiple divisions, with several firsts in public affairs junior and youth categories. Local clubs earned numerous awards across yearbook reports press books and poetry while the Junior Woman’s Club collected top spots in religous and Americanism divisions.
