Talented area residents must enter the Annual Noon Lions Club Tournament of Talent set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Brownfield Middle School Auditorium. Brownfield Tax Rebate Figures Lag Behind Prior Year
Brownfield’s March city sales tax rebate is 16,481.95 with year to date for 1983 at 109,607.68, down about 15 percent from the first quarter of 1982. Other area towns show declines. Lamesa, Seagraves, Seminole, and Levelland report lower rebates year to date and for March 1983 compared with 1982, with figures listed for each city.

Break-Ins and Burglaries Reported Across Brownfield
Brownfield police logged several thefts and disturbances from Tuesday to Friday. A Reed's Phillips 66 Service Station theft totaled 726 dollars in tools, including eight 40 piece wrench sets and multiple drive sets, with four sets recovered. Two pickups were burglarized Thursday night, 225 and 250 dollars in tools taken, plus 150 damage to Brownfield High School window. A 1973 Pontiac LeMans was robbed Wednesday. an eight track stereo worth 200 dollars disappeared and 200 dollars damage to the dash occurred.

Reward Offered in Cabrera’s TV Burglary Case
300 Reward For The Brownfield Crime Information, Inc. will pay a reward of $300.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons involved in the burglary of Cabrera's T.V. located at 113 N. 5th. Entry was gained through an upstairs door located at the back of the building. Several speaker sets and a cassette players and a cassette stereo were taken. This occurred sometime between the late night hours of Tuesday 3-15-83 and the early morning hours of Wednesday 3-16-83.
