Brownfield Cotton Clinic Promotes Modern Picking Techniques

In Terry County a cotton clinic at The Legion Hall drew about 100 participants led by Carl Cox of Dallas. Landlords and tenants from Brownfield area learned about machine picking and bale quality using new testing devices. A future program includes field tours and an owner operator school with lunch by the Sundown Lions.

Father Of Brownfield Man Dies In Lubbock

George W. Turner 77 retired New Home farmer and father of Virgil Turner of Brownfield died at 1 p.m. Friday in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife four sons five daughters 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
