Brownfield Kiwanis plan an all day pancake event on March 26 at Brownfield Junior High School cafeteria from 6 30 a m to 8 p m. Tickets stay at 50 cents. proceeds fund community programs with top local talent providing breakfast lunch and supper entertainment.
Jack Cox spoke Monday in The Legion Hall promoting his Americanism message ahead of the May primary against Price Daniel. Preliminary school census in Terry County shows 3910 students in four districts led by Brownfield with 3067 total, Meadow 379, Wellman 253 and Union 211. Superintendent Elmer Brownlee notes possible adjustments due to duplicate counts.
Brownfield hosts the annual joint gathering of attorneys and physicians from the 106th and 121st Judicial Districts. More than 150 attendees are expected for a 6 30 p m banquet and program at the Country Club with out of town guests Phil Overton of Austin and James Denton of Amarillo among speakers and others from outside the districts.
