Brooks Lamb Draws Record Houston Bid

Houston set a pace for the Junior Livestock Show market auctions with new world records for the grand champion and reserve champion lambs. A 132 pound market lamb sold for a world record $60,000 to close a bidding spree that began at $15,000 for the grand champion, with buyer details noted as a Gaines County 4-H exhibitor and a Terry County participant.

Commissioners Weigh Routine Agenda At Monday Meeting

Terry County commissioners reviewed routine agenda items and heard reports from county officials. The sheriff reported damages to a patrol unit, two deputies escaping injury when the vehicle rolled near Ropesville. Grand Champion Lamb was awarded to Shaw, Lawton, Oklahoma, with Miss Brooks winning the Wool Cross with a Fine Wool Hampshire cross lamb.
