Hester Wins County Spelling Bee Advances to Regional

Ask Attorney For Resignation After Friday Meeting

Terry County Commissioners met in closed session to discuss personnel after a county official was arrested for public intoxication. District Attorney Dwayne Pruitt was arrested and booked early Friday. Commissioners asked for Pruitt's resignation. no response reported by press time. A motion adopted an Adults Only policy for facility use.

Soil Conservation Meet Draws 75 County Farmers

Seventy five Terry County farmers gathered at the Flame Room of the Pioneer Natural Gas Building to discuss soil and water issues. District Conservationist Duane Moss opened with figures showing cotton lint yields dropping from 581 pounds per acre in 1965 to 365 in 1969 and about 170 in 1980, with similar declines in grain sorghum.
