The Terry County Junior Livestock Show concluded Monday afternoon with the auctioning of animals. Grand Champions included Loyd Jordan in Milk Fed Calf and Grady Herron in Dry Lot Calf, both purchased by Jones-Lowe Agency. Donald Martin led Swine with a Hampshire Grand Champion, while Dana Haywood held the Reserve Spot in Swine. The Texas Highway Department announces the start of a 10536 mile project on U S 62 from Wellman to Seagraves creating a four lane divided facility. It spans 9.139 miles in Terry County and 1.397 miles in Gaines County with J O Boswell of Lubbock as contractor. Funeral services for Mrs. F. B. MecBurnett were held at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Crow officiating. Burial followed in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under Brownfield Funeral Home direction. Mrs. Burnett, 38, died Monday at Brownfield General Hospital after a sudden illness. She came to Terry County in 1920 and married in 1925. her husband died in 1955. Surviving are son E. B. Jr., Alice. daughter Mrs. Ann Hall, Farmington NM. mother Mrs. L. R. Pounds, Brownfield. sister Mrs. Young Myatt, Lubbock. foster brother Tommy Hicks, Brownfield. and six grandchildren.
