Tiffany Parrish daughter of Mr and Mrs Richard Parrish was crowned the 1983 Babe Ruth Queen during ceremonies at the Cub baseball diamond. She was escorted by Santos Morales. First runner up was Cynthia Pauda and Jamie Rash was second runner up. The event also named the 1983 14 15 year old all star team and announced league standings and sponsors. Brownfield Police log weekend thefts and arson attempt
City police investigated thefts including tools worth about 900 from a 1969 Chevy pickup on East Broadway and a $530 unpaid Holiday House Motel bill by three men. A ring worth 800 was taken from a 1974 Buick glove compartment. Two bikes valued 139 and 200 were stolen from Cactus Lane and East Hester. An arson attempt was found Friday at 613 S 1st Street.
