Tahoka police arrested Gilbert Fernandez on a charge of theft of auto in connection with a 1949 Plymouth sedan taken from the Brownfield Post Office parking lot June 10. He was brought to Brownfield for arraignment after the weekend arrest.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young of Route 4 and Mrs. Anna Bell Barrow of 305 North Fifth were injured June 11 when a steel cable across the highway snagged their car near Sherman. Mrs Young was bruised, Young lost an arm in the crash, and Mrs Barrow suffered severe facial and head cuts. They were hospitalized in Sherman for several days before returning to Brownfield.
Cinderella Beauty Shop representatives—Mrs. L. B. Mitchell of 1011 East Buckley and Mrs. C. L. Aven of 801 East Broadway—joined national hairstyling star Andre Anouge at the 1962 Beauty Forum held Sunday at Parkway Manor Motel in Lubbock. Anouge showcased creative techniques and boasted over 60 first prize trophies including wins in the International Hairstyling Competition and the World Supreme Contest in the same day.
