Brownfield Council Approves Health Officer Search Delay
Brownfield City Council, led by Mayor C E Ross, postponed selecting a city health officer until its next meeting after noting residency requirements from the 1946 Attorney General ruling. Bill Noble was named to the Board of Health for the South Plains Health Unit. The TV tower lease, set at $100 monthly for 6.24 acres through Aug 31, 1970, was tabled after discussion about a 10 year extension and reduced rent. Red Cross aid continues for flood victims with a few families already assisted.

974 Men To Be Called In July For the Army
The Texas quota of 974 men for July is the state share of a national call of 19,900. 155 draft boards will furnish the manpower for induction and pre induction in July, with local boards receiving quotas and scheduling three induction groups. A quota of four doctors of osteopathy was allocated to enter the Army and Navy in July August and September.

Architect Atkinson presented minimum modernization costs to pass state inspection at Brownfield General Hospital. The plan includes removing acoustical ceiling tiles, installing fire walls, widening doors and replacing frames with solid metal doors.
