Nine Brownfield residents traveled to Houston at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday to attend Joe Satterwhite’s burial at Forrest Park Cemetery. OK to Fight for Greater Cotton Market in Terry County

Terry County growers endorsed a plan by the Cotton Producers Institute to build a 5,000,000 bale market within seven to eight years through promotion and research. At four meetings in Wellman Union Meadows and Brownfield, farmers committed about 60 percent of the county crop at $1 per bale, aiming to raise profits amid rising fiber consumption.

Truck Damage Disrupts Electricity And Telephone Service

A tractor trailer snagged power lines near Tahoka Road in northeast Brownfield causing hours long outages. Two telephone poles were toppled and a 250 pair telephone cable was severed at the intersection of Tahoka Highway and A Street. Crews worked Friday night with service restored by Saturday. the truck belonged to Co. L Holder Trucking of Kermit.
