The defending Class AAA state champions, Brownfield High School band, start summer rehearsals on August 1 with a full schedule. Freshmen and percussion begin July 28 at 10 a.m. in the band hall, and the week of August 8 features daily 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. practices. Students must attend if in town and contact staff with conflicts.
County books for the 1994 Terry County Rodeo open at 9 each Tuesday and Wednesday at the Terry County Sheriff's Posse Clubhouse, phone 637-6555. The rodeo runs Thursday July 28 through Saturday July 30 with events nightly at 8. Parade on the final day at 1 pm, with a post event barbecue for participants. Prizes include 200 added in several events, with other cash awards and races.
