Brownfield ISD renews bus contract with Durham

Brownfield ISD trustees renewed its Durham Transportation Service contract for a second year with a reduced 3 percent increase after CPI review. The district will stay under contract rather than run its own bus system due to high replacement costs. They also approved TASB Risk Management Fund insurance at 107043 dollars, down 1.7 percent, and an interlocal agreement with Sundown ISD to share Child Nutrition Director Ken Weaver, cutting Brownfield costs to 35324 dollars while Sundown pays 31316.53 dollars. The board excused back taxes on a V&L Furniture Building to allow demolition for Higginbotham Bartlett Lumber expansion.
