BRMC discusses thallium scanner unit and other tests
Brownfield Medical Center board heard reports on a thallium scanner deal with two area physicians, with the unit ordered for August. A stress testing treadmill device and a mobile MRI unit have been used since June, aiding patient care and avoiding some travel. The board also noted progress on a grant up to 150000 for a new computer system, and approved aid for Dr. Khanh Vu’s medical loan repayment, though he will practice elsewhere. Financial reports showed June accounts payable, reserve funds, and tax collections totaling 1.169 million for the 1999-2000 year, with 1791 insurance claims filed and June activity including 10 deliveries and 17 procedures.
