Mr and Mrs Thomas Cargill of Brownfield announce the engagement of their daughter Brenda Gail to John Kelly Hopper son of Mr and Mrs J W Hopper of Route 3 Brownfield. Hopper is a 1977 Union High School graduate and works for Western Oil Transportation Inc.

Oil Boom Expands In Terry County Fields Since 1980
About 30 oil wells have been completed in Terry County since December 1980 with potential production around 2800 barrels per day. A February 27 1981 Wellman field grant reached 780 BOPD. other wells vary from 99 BOPD to 200 plus. Major operators include Gulf Union Texas Petroleum Getty and Remuda.
