Weekes Talks To Brownfield Optimist Club
Don Weekes of Lubbock addressed the Brownfield Optimist Club at their Thursday noon meeting. Weekes, a certified skin diving instructor, spoke on skin diving and a desecration of equipment. James W. Parade To Oner Rodeo Festivities

Rites Held For Civic Leader and Businessman
Funeral services for WB Red Tudor were held at 2 30 pm Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev Ed Crow officiating. He died at 1 50 am Thursday in Brownfield General Hospital after a stroke. Tudor, 78, was a longtime Brownfield merchant and civic figure, Ford and Buick dealer, bank director and former city council member. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, a sister, seven nephews and three nieces. Pallbearers named.

Local Couple Die in Auto Accident Near Fredericksburg
Funeral plans are set for Mr. and Mrs. W. G Carter of Gomez after a head on collision at 9:30 am Saturday near Fredericksburg on their way home from visiting son Arthur Ray Carlier of Victoria. Survived by three daughters, three sons, twenty grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters, the Carters were farmers with long service in the Gomez community.

Toll tragedy near Brownfield claims eight lives
A head on collision 12 miles west of Brownfield on U S Highway 380 at 5 30 a m Saturday killed eight people, all in the Castro car except Primo Luna Ramon who died later. Victims include Pablo Castro 23 and Elena Estrada 19 with others aged 13 to 16. Ramon 34 survived initially but died at Brownfield General Hospital.
