Chamber Makes Festival Changes

The Brownfield Chamber of Commerce met in regular session to discuss the 1982 Harvest Festival set for October with the theme Country Fling and Fiesta. Five clubs will sell tickets starting August 16, and prize options include a cruise, a video recorder, or a hind quarter of beef.

W O Caraway Services Set For Monday

Funeral services for former Brownfield School Superintendent W O Bill Caraway are set for 10 30 a m Monday at the First Christian Church in Brownfield with Rev Jack Garrett officiating. Cremation will follow. Caraway 56 died Friday morning in Methodist Hospital Lubbock after a brief illness. He served 14 years as Brownfield School Superintendent.

Gas Lease On County Agenda

BISD to Vote on 1983 Budget After Hearing

The BISD board will hold a public hearing on the 1982-83 budget at 7 30 p m in the school administration building and then vote on the budget. Business Manager James Willis recommends a tax rate of 51 5 cents per 100 valuation, a 1 5 cent rise from 1981 82.
