Rotary Def Driver Course Offers Insurance Discount
Brownfield Rotarians offer a defensive driving course to about 150 residents with a 10 percent auto insurance discount after August. The three day program runs August 22 23 and 25 in the Pioneer Natural Gas Flame Room with Trooper Bert Sinclair as instructor. Fee is 2.25 dollars to cover course materials, and enrollment is at the Brownfield Police Department with Joyce Hester or Sgt. Glenda McCullough. The event is a joint effort with Pioneer Gas and local police and DPS. A second course may follow if interest is strong.

Police report no charges yet in a hit and run involving a car and 16 year old Connie Mack Jones bicycle rider near Cedar and Cardwell. Jones suffered minor injuries and was treated at Brownfield General Hospital. A suspect arrived at the police station with his lawyer as evidence was gathered from the car.

Weeklong Oil Painting Workshop At Brownfield Art Center
The Brownfield Art Association hosts a five day oil painting workshop from July 18 to 22 in the association building, daily 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A kickoff lecture and demonstration by William H.
