Cotton crop outlook for Terry County after recent rain
Terry County producers report about 25 000 acres lost from a 225 000 acre cotton base. Most replanting is complete with future crops likely guar sorghum or Spanish peanuts. Two to three inches of rain refreshed soil, though some hail and wind damaged southern areas. Insect pests remain minimal but flea hoppers and plugs may appear as weeds are eradicated.
