Early cloud seeding debated at South Plains conference

He noted February seeding may foretell a stronger spring storm season and discussed drought-driven aims to boost soil moisture in Terry and Yoakum Counties as part of the High Plains Precipitation Enhancement Program.

Terry County Sheriff Jerry Johnson presented the 1998 annual report at commissioners court. The department logged 3,118 calls and 103 offenses, made 311 arrests, served 996 civil warrants, and cleared 68 of 104 offenses. Costs to house overflow inmates were $82,496. law center construction will shift costs starting 1999. meals topped 12,409. 9-1-1 activity included 93 emergencies and 63 non emergencies.
