Tax office to stay open noon for vehicle registration
County Tax Assessor-Collector Paul Brock announced the tax office will stay open during the noon hour from Jan 31 through April 1 to aid vehicle registrations. Residents are urged to bring registration cards mailed from the state. registration runs Feb 1 to April 1.

Comptroller Bob Bullock reports Terry County outlets posted 26,075,916 in gross sales and 10,545,034 in taxable sales for Q3 1976. Texas total gross retail sales reached 34.5 billion, up 13 percent year over year, led by Harris and Dallas counties. In-state firms totaled 32.2 billion, with 2.3 billion from out-of-state firms.

Housing authority meet today in Brownfield council chambers
The Brownfield Housing Authority schedules a 1 30 p m meeting with Farmers Home Administration and South Plains Association of Governments reps. Public meeting backs F.M. 168 upgrades in Terry County
Citizens and officials endorsed improvements to F.M. 168 from U.S. 380 east of Brownfield to F.M. 1076. The project calls for 100 feet of right of way, 451000 dollar construction, and four to six months of work starting late summer or fall. Landowners were told they may donate land with possible compensation for tenants and any needed building moves.
