District Court Opens Criminal Docket in Terry County

The 121st Judicial District Court convenes Monday with Judge M C Ledbetter presiding. Annotations call for pleas and motions at 10 a.m. and jury duty at 10 a.m. Tuesday as cases proceed including charges of burglary, robbery, arson, theft, and aggravated assault among others.

Charges Dismissed In Gaines County Fraud Case

U S District Court Judge Halbert O Woodward dismissed all charges against A Earl Jones John Thomas and Jon T Farms in the Gaines County fraud case stemming from a Commodity Credit Corporation false statement probe tied to an Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service investigation involving 195 farmers and a 7 5 million illegal cotton price support scheme.

Forson Seeks Constable Post in Terry County Precinct 1

James Forson, owner of James Motor Sales in Brownfield, announces he will run for Constable of Terry County Precinct 1. A former Oklahoma deputy sheriff and Pecos and Lamesa patrolman, Forson has lived in Brownfield area since 1925 and moved there in 1971 with his wife Norman and three children. He campaigns for votes on May 1 and pledges honest, law abiding service.
