The Terry County Grand Jury indicted 16 individuals in Thursday session for various offenses. Names of those charged were not fully listed in readable text, but the action reflects formal criminal accusations by the local grand jury.
Fidencia Ramirez is charged with murder on two counts. Ricky Rodriguez faces a felony driving while intoxicated charge as part of the same case.

Brownfield’s Chamber of Commerce plans its annual banquet at 7 30 p m February 6 in the BHS Commons with a reception hosted by the Silver Coats and past presidents. Jack Cargill will MC the event and Lynn Brisendine will present the Citizen of the Year Award. Larry Buchanan and a South Plains College bluegrass band provide entertainment, with Buchanan touted as an engaging showman featuring folk and country tunes for all ages.
A public hearing on a proposed private prison for Brown Field will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the District Courtroom on the second floor of the Terry County Courthouse. Citizens are urged to attend and back a possible fourth correctional facility for the city.
Terry County prepares for four area stock shows starting January 21 at the Terry County Barn with Meadow Show at 5 30 p m and arrivals at 9 a m Judge Curtis Preston Bailey County. Subsequent shows in Wellman Brownfield and Terry Co Jr Livestock conclude February 13 with weigh ins contests and a premium sale.
