Brownfield City Council will meet Thursday January 6 in regular session at 7 30 a m to hear Leota Hinson on a hospitality house for families of residents at Jim Rudd Unit and Intermediate Sanction Facility. The agenda includes Parks and Recreation Board appointments, a 2005 solid waste management contract with S P A G and M T C, a 423 N 2nd St property sale offer, and a closed session on real property for future plant expansion followed by return to open session.
Meadow opens district play Friday at Whitharral while Wellman-Union travels to Ropes. Coaches Ryan Bobo and Russell Schaub stress hard work, team unity, and belief in better results as District 5-A favorites loom. Both teams seek consistency and confidence after mixed non-district campaigns.
Wellman-Union Lady Wildcats and Meadow Lady Broncos begin District 5-A play Friday night with 6:30 p.m. games. Wellman-Union visits Ropes, Meadow travels to Whitharral, the seventh-ranked Class A Division II team. Coach Kendal Lawlis and Kim Bayer describe roster challenges and readiness for the district climb.
