Melinda Wood, 16 month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Bobby Wood, marks another year with family gathering and joyful wishes from relatives and friends.
Brownfield reports for July 1985 show building permits totaling 2,026,055 with a 500,000 Best Western motel project on Lubbock Road. Meals on Wheels moved to 2nd and Tate. A lawsuit targets Brownfield and school district over at large voting. A July 14 murder involves Vincent Montez in a north Brownfield vehicle shooting. Terry County Rodeo spans three days starting July 25.
Terry County Commissioners again rejected bids for a new sheriff's department vehicle. The Dec 9 bid from Neal Echols Chevrolet for a 1986 Caprice totaled 10 955.50 including a 14 127 list price and a 3171 50 trade in on a 1983 unit. A second bid from Ed Moseley Ford totaled 11 114 52 with a 1 000 trade in.
