Meadow Students Sweep Top Honors At Show
Meadow youngsters Casey Coleman Chad Brooks and Jolisa Barrier captured grand champion awards across three divisions at the Terry County Junior Livestock Show held at the Terry County barn. About 250 pens were judged with Coleman winning the grand title in medium weight Hampshire swine and Brooks tallying the grand champion lamb.

Stormie Shelhamer 14 and Brownfield High School freshman won the girls division of the Brownfield Optimist Club oratorical contest held at the weekly meeting. She spoke on You and I and Tomorrow relating to computer technology and will advance to the zone contest in spring. Michelle Davis spoke on You and I and Tomorrow about child abuse, and Shelly McMeans discussed accidents and safety.

Block faces overflow crowd at Lubbock farm policy town hall

Brownfield Issues Eight February Building Permits
Brownfield issued eight building permits in February totaling 145,540 with a $60,000 project on the Second Floor of First Baptist Church. The city’s two month total reaches 422,940, down from 481,433 for January February last year. Jim Hendrix moved a ready built duplex at 1004 N Ballard for 40,000.
