Draft Board Calls 20 Men for March Induction
Local draft board No. 116 sets a March induction quota of 20 men and 45 for physicals. statewide boards plan 5 515 men for pre induction exams in March, compared with February's 8 640. The March induction quota of 1 570 is the largest monthly Texas figure since June 1953, with 19 year olds eligible for the call and single or childless married men 19 to 25 prioritized. Married men with children or an expected child are excluded if information on children is known.

Linda Horton, 1965 Farm Bureau Queen, spoke at the Rotary Club noon meeting on world understanding and non-military victory in South Vietnam. Services Held For Mrs. Davie Lee Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Davie Lee Smith 79 were conducted at 2 p m Saturday at First Baptist Church with Rev J W Goforth and Rev Ed Crow officiating. Burial followed in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under Brownfield Funeral Home direction. Mrs Smith died Friday morning after a long illness. She came to Terry County in 1923 with husband Frank M Smith, farmed locally, later moved to Wingate then Brownfield. Survivors include two sons four daughters three brothers four sisters 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
