After more than 12 hours of judging Terry County Jr. Livestock Show named Grand and Reserve champions in steers lambs gilts and barrows. Showmanship honors went to Seaton Beasley Riley Wade Newsom and Graf. Detailed class placings listed for steers lambs and swine.
Brownfield High School earned four first place awards at the 49th Annual DECA Career Development conference in Lubbock, with Storms Mann April Moore Denise Staudt and Belen Vasquez topping their events and advancing to the State Conference in Corpus Christi. Ten more BHS students placed, including Catarina Gonzalez and Beverly Lacy in second, Laura Gonzalez and Lisa Boyd in other top spots, and several alternates. Five additional students also competed at Monterey High School.
Tickets go on sale across Brownfield for a casual dinner honoring retired State Representative Jim Rudd. The March 9 event at 7 p.m. in Brownfield High School Commons features special guests Senator John Montford and Rep Gary Walker and starts the ribbon cutting for the Jim Rudd Prison facility.
