Brownfield Country Club held its annual stockholders meeting Monday and elected two new directors Homer Nelson and Harold Klein. Mrs. Sammy Jones joined the board as president of the club’s women’s organization, replacing Vera Muldrow. Nelson was named president and Klein vice president. The Terry Memorial Hospital District set April 6 as the election date for three new directors. Terms will be two years for all future directors. Incinerator purchase and $44,000 remodeling were debated but delayed. January finances reached a record $62,462.48 with 150 claims totaling $45,964.93. Present were Stice, Baron, Henson, Baumgardner, Fleming, Mason, McMillan, and Dr. Hill.

Funeral services for Jack Henderson 62 were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brownfield Memorial Chapel with Rev. A D Kyle and Rev. Jones officiating. Burial followed at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under Brownfield Funeral Home direction. Henderson died Thursday morning at his Big Spring home. Born in Goldwaite he moved to Howard County from Odessa in 1936. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include a stepson Chester Kirkland two sisters Mrs Bessis Watkins and Mrs Christine Bagley three brothers Posie Henderson Dick Henderson and H L Henderson.
