Court To Consider Renovation Bids At Terry County Airport

The Terry County commissioners meet at 2 p.m. to consider bids for the $130,000 airport runway renovation funded by a TAC grant covering three quarters. The plan reworks 9,778 yards of runway 20, which has deteriorated, with surface and base fully removed and rebuilt during warm weather.

Weather Dominates Brownfield January 1983 News

The January 1983 weather pattern in Brownfield set the tone for the month with a seven inch New Year snow, followed by a 10 inch storm on January 21 22. Cumulative moisture totaled 2.37 inches from 18 inches of snow, well above normal. Record lows touched single digits while the high reached 70.
