Wednesday Rites for Mrs William J French in Welch
Funeral rites for Mrs. William J. French 94 of Route 5 were held at Welch Baptist Church with Rev. C R Blake presiding. She died Monday evening in the home of her daughter Myrtle Lowe after living there for months. A pioneer resident since 1903, she was survived by her husband who died earlier. Burial followed at Pride Cemetery in Welch.

Funeral services for B Worsham 44 of 402 North A were held Wednesday at First Methodist Church with Rev James Tidwell officiating. Worsham who died Monday afternoon at Treadaway Darnell Hospital after a heart attack had lived in Ter ry since 1920 and moved to Brownfield after retiring from farming in 1934. Burial followed at Brownfield Cemetery with Brownfield Funeral Home directing. Survivors include wife Martha and two sons.

Union Baptist Church started dismantling its 44 year old building to make way for a 12000 dollar brick tile structure due by mid April. Rev Cletus Caswell said work will use active members and expect construction to begin in about two weeks and the new edifice to open within a few months. The church, formed in 1914 from a combined Methodist Baptist group, met in the schoolhouse before the 1928 current building.
