Mishap on County Road Ends in One-Car Crash
A one car accident near Brownheels left Billy Utah Halex with a cut eye and about $100 damage to a 1957 Ford sedan. The vehicle skidded into a sand bank on a dirt road west of the city around 2 am Sunday. No other injuries were reported by Highway Patrolman Fred Lenz.

Terry County United Fund board reports 14 percent short of its $24,807 goal for the year despite optimism. Schools Division led by Larry Morton exceeded its target in weeks after the campaign launch. Rites Held For Former Resident Wilma Thomas
Funeral services for Wilma Jean Thomas 20 a Brownfield native who recently lived in Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with burial at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. She was shot Saturday night at 160 Ave D pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace S R Land. Survivors include her mother a brother Robert Thomas of Brownfield and grandparents Mr and Mrs W B Thomas of Quanah.
