Nomination Procedure Set For Jaycee Young Men Award

Jaycee President Alvin Davis announced the 1955 Brownfield Junior Chamber Distinguished Service award will use a one point based nomination system. Terry Farmers Protest Cuts in County Cotton Allotments

West Texas growers in Terry County filed 161 protests at the county ASC office over the 1956 cotton allotment cuts. Farmers claim the transfer of 200,000 acres from West to East Texas was unjust and seek review hearings, with about 11,000 acres at stake for planting next year. Hill One of 74 Surviving Texans in Merit Scholars

John M. Hill Jr. is listed among 174 Texas high school students advancing to the semi finals of the National Merit Scholarship program.
