Weevil Eradication Plan Approved Across Western High Plains
Cotton producers in Terry Andrews Gaines Yoakum and part of Lynn counties voted 1309 to 347 to fund a boll weevil program covering 875000 acres with a maximum annual assessment of 12 per irrigated acre and 6 per dry land acre. The plan passed with over 78 percent in favor and 53 percent of zone acreage voting yes. Teens survive gas explosion in closed car at landfill
Two Brownfield teens Joshua Merrelli and Jason Benton aged 17 and 18 survived a Wednesday night explosion inside a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier at the Brownfield landfill. Both were hospitalized with second and third degree burns over 15 and 23 percent of their bodies. Investigators probe possible fumes from a gasoline container after a lit cigarette.

Goodfellows Readied for Christmas Deliveries

SPUWCD to offer loans to area farmers
