Citizens may speak on the Brownfield at large voting case at a public hearing during Thursday morning council session. The 8 30 a m start with the hearing at 9 a m follows a lawsuit filed last summer by a San Antonio voting rights group on behalf of four residents alleging unconstitutional and discriminatory at large council elections. The council pursues districting plans while two members plus the mayor stay elected at large, with an Austin firm studying district boundaries. A presentation on the districting was given December 12, and bids for a garbage truck and street sweeper will be opened Thursday morning.
