United Way Funds Slow Campaign May Be Extended
United Way of Terry County may extend its 2003 Fund Drive to reach a $40,000 goal after collecting about $5,400, less than 14 percent. Spokesperson Tresa West notes slow donations, cites payroll deduction as key to steady giving, and highlights six large employers offering such plans. Funds support ten local nonprofits including Girl Scouts, Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and Salvation Army.
