Prison bid eyed as Texas to add beds statewide

Brownfield officials completed optioning 306 acres near the Court Residential Treatment Facility for a proposed state prison project. Texas voters approved $1.1 billion in bonds to build up to 25,000 new beds, with plans for maximum, medium and soft bed units across multiple cities including Lubbock.

Community leaders back Brownfield prison project

Santa Claus will visit the Terry County Courthouse front steps at 7 p.m. this Tuesday for a Chamber of Commerce event. He invites youngsters to tell him what they want for Christmas as treats and carol singing accompany the appearance.

The Brownfield Middle School Choral Department invites the community to its annual Christmas concert at 6 30 p m this Tuesday Dec 17 in the Middle School Auditorium. Perez Convicted in 121st District Court of Aggravated Assault

A jury in 121st District Court found Eutimio Tim Perez guilty of aggravated assault on a police officer. Indicted by a Terry County grand jury for an incident on May 12 involving a wounded officer. Perez, 46, of Brownfield, received a probated one year in a community correctional facility. formal sentencing planned for mid January.
