Commissioners adopt new precinct boundaries in Terry County

Spirit of the Plains Christmas Concert at Brownfield Middle

The Spirit of the Plains Concert and Symphonic bands present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. December 12 in the Brownfield Middle School Auditorium. The Concert Band led by Jamie Shipp and Bill Shipp perform a Christmas Suite, Carol of the Drum, and Jingle Bell Fantasy. The Symphonic Band led by Bill Surface and Bill Shipp perform The Happy Sounds of Christmas, White Christmas, Twas the Night Before Christmas narrated by Geoff Bissett, and Sleigh Ride. Community members are invited to attend.

Three BHS Musicians Advance to Area Auditions

Brownfield High School band students Scott Wheatley James Cross and D J Sanders advanced to Area Auditions for the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Band and Orchestra. Wheatley placed second among trumpets Cross is one of two baritones and Sanders earned the third tuba slot. The trio will perform January 4 in Lubbock against 4A 5A rivals for potential All-State honors in San Antonio in February. Tara Shipp also advances in region orchestra on flute. Changes to the audition process blend orchestra and band paths, with top region performers competing for both All-State bands and orchestras in February.
