Neighbors Aid Injured Farmer After Plane Crash
A group of Terry County residents aided Jerry Liles after his cropdusting plane crashed on August 8. Liles, treated at BRMC and Lubbock General, suffered multiple injuries. Nearly 30 neighbors volunteered time and equipment to harvest his cotton. Duggan to Begin BRMC Board Duties Monday
John Duggan will be sworn in as a member of the Terry Memorial Hospital District Board of Directors at 7 p.m. Monday at the hospital. Duggan is vice-president of the First National Bank and was appointed in October after George Williford resigned to become President of Security National Bank of Lubbock. Two Die In Grinding Collision On Plains Highway
A Brownfield man and his nephew died Wednesday night when their pickup hit the rear of a turning truck on Plains Highway. Dario Barraza 47 and Javier Barraza 15 of Valle De Zaragoza Mexico were eastbound in a 1980 Dodge when Curtis Kennedy Jr. 34 Brownfield slowed to turn onto Farm Road 303. The front of the pickup crushed under the truck and both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Kennedy was treated for head wounds and listed in satisfactory condition. Funeral services for the Barrazas were at St Anthony's Church Brownfield with burial at Brownfield Cemetery.
