Brownfield Police Honor Two Officers At Christmas Banquet

The Brownfield Police Department honored Brenda Cypert and Allan McClure at the Annual Christmas Banquet held at First United Methodist Church. Cypert received the J T Churchwell Officer of the Year Award while McClure was named the James Tippit Memorial Officer of the Year. Courthouse power outage tied to driveway renovation

Electric lines were cut beneath the east driveway of the Terry County Courthouse causing a Monday power loss from shortly after 3 p.m. to about 7 p.m. The county jail ran on a backup generator while offices closed for the rest of the day. power was restored by Tuesday morning.

Brownfield to Hold Meeting on Prison Job Opportunities

Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials visit Brownfield this Thursday at 7 p.m. to outline employment options at the Jim Rudd Substance Abuse Treatment Center. The center will open as a jail transfer unit in March 1995 with 167 staff, mainly correctional officers, plus other positions.
