West Texas Leaders Plan California Water Project Tour
Clem Weiss heads a 75-person group from Amarillo to Lubbock and on to California by Dec. 10 for a Water Inc. tour of state water projects. They will visit Sacramento and the Oroville Dam, study Kern County irrigation, and seek methods to finance regional water supplies for West Texas Eastern New Mexico and Western Oklahoma.

Goodpasture Rites Pending for Kathryn Goodpasture
Funeral services are pending for Mrs. Kathryn Goodpasture 75 who died on arrival at Brownfield General Hospital. She lived at 602 East Ripley and moved to Terry County in 1917 from Ada Oklahoma. Her husband R M Goodpasture died in 1934. Survivors include son Grady and five daughters Rozelle Stevens Gertie Hill Estelle Rhyne Mary Joyce Jordan Lois Bidwell 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Marvin Lewis Ervin 60 will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. A J Franks officiating. Burial follows at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under Brownfield Funeral Home direction. He died Wednesday at Brownfield General Hospital from a heart condition. He was manager of B E Implement Co and a longtime Brownfield resident. Survivors include wife Mabie a son Jim two daughters Nelda Blackman Inez Beesinger mother Lucy Franklin three brothers Earnest Roy Tom a sister Bill Irwin and eight grandchildren.

Brownfield High School Band Boosters sell Texas Manor Fruitcakes with orders due December 20. Prices are 3.70, 5.25, and 8.25 for two, three, and five pound cakes. Jack Garrett leads the group. 14 Band students will travel to Odessa for All-District tryouts. boosters will cover lodging. Christmas Concert is December 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets sold by Blis band members. The trip to El Paso and Sun Bowl Parade participation were discussed.
