Outstanding Abilene eighth grader Lindsey Gardner honored

Lindsey Gardner of Abilene was named Outstanding Eighth Grade Student at a Breakfast Optimist Club reception at the Abilene Civic Center. She is the daughter of Joey and Shelia Gardner and the granddaughter of Clyde and Charlott Gardner Sherril and Vonnell Lindsey, with great grandparents Bill Lindsey Danielle McKenzie and Farrell and Nora Mae Daniel of Brownfield.

Brownfield DECA to Host First Rock-A-Thon Event

Brownfield High School DECA announces a Friday Rock-A-Thon from 2 p.m. to midnight to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and DECA travel expenses. Ten teams compete to maximize donations, with proceeds split between MDA and DECA. A canned food drive and Bahama Bucks snow cones support the effort.
